Rug buying guide

While buying a rug, the most challenging task is to choose the right size for your space. To make it easy for you, we’ve done half the process for you. Thus, we provide you a room by room guide so that you can save yourself some time to spend it with your beloved rug.

Living space.

•While choosing a rug for your living room, remember that the front legs of sofas and chairs should sit on the rug.
•Make sure to leave at least 1 ft. of exposed
the floor between the rug and walls.
•Leave at least 6 inches of rug space
on each side of the furniture.

•Find the right foundation best suited for your living room and thus go for the perfect material.
•Style a smaller rug on top of a larger area rug to bring depth and visual interest to any arrangement. The top rug should be roughly
2/3 the size of the base.

Dining room

•Leave at least 18-24 inches between the backs of the chairs and the edges of the rug.
•Choose a rug that is large enough to fit
all four chair legs when they are pulled out.
•If the table is extendable, select a rug size that can accommodate the table at its longest length.

-For an 84–96 inch Table size with a seating of 8–10 persons, go for a rug size of 9ft x 12ft.
– For 72 inches Table size with a seating of 6-8 persons, go for a rug size of 8ft x 10ft
-For 60 inches Table size with a seating of 4–6 persons, go for a rug size of 8ft x 10ft

Round Tables

For 60 inches Table size with a seating of 6 people, go for a rug size of
9ft x 12ft or 8ft x 10ft or 8ft round rug
For 48 inches Table size with a seating of 4 persons, go for a rug size of 8ft x 10ft or 6ft round rug

Bedroom

•The size of your bedroom is the first thing to be kept in mind while choosing a rug for a bedroom.
•Remember that the rug you choose shall rug extend at least a foot from either side of the bed.
•For larger rooms or beds, consider a rug
that can also comfortably fit your nightstands.

Shop

Entryway
•Rugs for the entryway helps the heavily trafficked area look cozier.
•Choose a rug that frames the door or can
be centered in front of an entry bench or table.
•If the opening of the door is obstructed
by the rug, Use a runner or 3’ x 5’ rug centered in the space to avoid any obstruction.
•Choose a rug shape that matches the shape of your entryway.
For a  long narrow entryway, try a runner while for a rectangular entryway go for a  rectangular rug.
